Antique Edwardian platinum topped dragonfly brooch accented with a glittering array of single cut diamonds in hand crafted, milgrain-edged settings. The edges of the dragonfly are decorated with calibre cut rubies, and the marvelous creature has two emeralds for eyes. One ruby cabochon centers the dragonfly's body, which is supported by masterfully spring loaded wings giving the piece elegant movement. A true work of art. The rubies and emeralds have a combined weight of 2.88 carats. The diamonds weigh 1.76 carat with GH color and VS2-SI2 clarity. The piece measures 2-3/4" wide 2-1/2" tall. Circa 1910s.
